Grace slept for 9 hours per night until she smoked Indigo Blue cannabis about 4 months ago. She looked to cannabis to improve her sleep quality but believes she may have had an adverse reaction, because now she's not sleeping at all.
In this episode we talk about paradoxical insomnia and how almost anything can trigger sleeplessness, but only our reaction to said sleeplessness can produce chronic insomnia.

We get a question of to what extent dehydration and vitamin D deficiency causes trouble sleeping. I believe the former can cause sleep disruption but not chronic insomnia and the latter most likely is not a culprit. Wondering if they cause insomnia on the other hand can cause a lot of sleepless nights.

Just as your brain is about to transition into sleep you can become aware of this and get kicked back into wakefulness. Alex tried focusing on nothing and deep breathing to make this stop happening which didn't work. He finally found a way to stop it that, it turns out, may have kept him from taking the final step towards not having these events at all.
